Following his second straight loss in the UFC this past November, Sydney based Richard Vaculik has confirmed that he has been released from the promotion.
Vaculik, 32, confirmed the news on UFC tonight on Thursday night with his fighter profile being deleted from the UFC website shortly after.
He becomes the second Australian fighter to be removed in recent times after Western Australian Steven Kennedy was released last month.
Vaculik secured a UFC contract following an appearance on The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes where he competed at lightweight. Vaculik, 32, dropped back to lightweight and met flyweight stand-out Justin Scoggins in his UFC debut, losing via stoppage in the first-round. Vaculik bounced back with a decision win over Roldan Sangcha-an before dropping bouts to Louis Smolka and Danny Martinez.
Vaculik is also known as the star of reality show The Crew and as the co-anchor of UFC Tonight, a weekly recap show on Fox Sports Australia.
