Jason Knight confirmed via his twitter today that the featherweight has been billed to fight Dan Hooker at UFC Melbourne.
“The Kid” is currently 1-1 inside the Octagon and 15-2 since touring pro, amassing a whopping 12 submission victories and nine first round finishes over the course of his seven year career. The Jiu Jitsu specialist has been training in mixed martial arts since he was 14 and was unbeaten in his amateur career.

At just 23 years of age Knight is an aggressive fighter who likes to stand and trade with opponents despite his proficiency on the mat and tends to get hit on the feet due to a lack of defensive tools at his disposal. This is no doubt something the rising prospect will look to have rectified in the lead up to his bout with Hooker. Without a doubt his wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu will be the key weapons in his arsenal, in particular his propensity to submit from the guard.
Dan Hooker will be a formidable opponent having six submission victories of his own however his ability to strike and finish fights on the feet gives him a more well rounded game to take into the showdown come November 27. Coming off a first round victory over Mark Eddiva, the kiwi who fights out of Tiger Muay Thai, will be looking to impress down under once again and open himself up for some big name competition in the not too distant future.
