Gold Coast based Ben Alloway secured a late submission to defeat local fighter Sergey Khandozhko this morning.
The event, Absolute Championship Berkut 48 took place at the Dynamo Sports Palace in Moscow, Russia.
The fighters exchanged kicks and jabs early, with neither fighter unloading with big shots. A solid jab from the Aussie put Khandozkho on the canvas. Alloway followed him to the ground but Khandozkho was able to tie him up and secure a quick referee stand-up.
In the second round, Alloway took the back and controlled the round however was unable to get his arm around the next to get the submission.
Alloway was again able to take back control in the third round, setting up with a nicely timed single leg. Locking up the body-triangle, Alloway secured the neck for the rear-naked choke submission, 3:09 into the last round.
With the win, Alloway moves to 19-7 with his second win in a row. It was also Alloway’s first victory in the promotion after losing his debut at Absolute Championship Berkut 41 in July.
Twenty-four year-old Sergey Khandozkho drops to 22-4-1.
