Australian Muay Thai fighter John Wayne “The Gunslinger” Parr has officially signed on to compete in Bellator’s kickboxing promotion.
Parr, who is coming off a decision win against Daniel Dawson, first hinted at signing with the promotion a month ago and officially put pen to paper earlier today.
The Gold Coast based fighter will make his debut in 2017, which will be 20 years after he made a name for himself in Thailand where he competed in the famed Lumpinee Stadium, was voted the 1997 Best Farang Fighter and was given the opportunity to fight on the King’s Birthday event.
Now 40-years-old and closing in on the end of his career, Parr will be hoping to make one last impact on the international stage and will compete in the promotions 155 pounds (70 kgs) division.
Parr is expected to have one more fight locally when he puts on the MMA gloves to compete in his Caged Muay Thai promotion on December 3 in Logan City, Queensland.
