Just over three weeks out from the UFC Fight Night card in New Zealand, The Ultimate Fighter – Smashes contestant Richie Vaculik has had a change of opponent after Jon Delos Reyes (7-3) was forced off the card with an injury.
Vaculik will now face undefeated Filipino fighter Roldan Sangcha’an. UFC officials announced the change earlier today for the event scheduled to occur at Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand on June 28.
Based out of Sydney, Vaculik will go into this must-win fight for him after losing his UFC debut back in December against Justin Scoggins in Brisbane. The 30 year-old ‘Bra Boy’ surfer and star of his own reality show, “The Crew” will bring a 9-2 record into this flyweight bout.
His new scheduled opponent, Roldan Sangcha’an hails from the Lakay MMA gym in the Philippines where he trained alongside One FC fighters Eduard Folayang and Kevin Belingon among others. He only made his professional MMA debut back in 2012 but since then has won all four of his career fights. Two of his wins have come via submission while the other two by TKO.
The event will be headlined by James Te Huna who will be making the drop down to middleweight to take on former middleweight contender Nate Marquardt who is coming back from a stint at welterweight.
