The 2016 Australian Muay Thai calendar is coming to an end and Rebellion Muay Thai returns for its final show of the year this Saturday night at St Kilda Town Hall.
In what is sure to be their strongest card to date, Rebellion has put together a line-up featuring some of Australia’s best against international opponents from the UK, Thailand and New Zealand in what is sure to be an explosive and exciting end to the year.
Coming from Thailand, and making their international debuts on Rebellion, are twin brothers Tia and Petch Sitmonchai. Both hail from the famed Sitmonchai gym in Bangkok and come to Melbourne with strong credentials looking to test their Australian opponents and make a name for themselves.
In the main event Tia Sitmonchai will face Australian veteran Brodie Stadler from Queensland. Stadler has recently spent time living and training in Thailand and after amassing an extensive 73 fight record over his career is ready to challenge himself once again on Australian soil against a formidable opponent. As a former two-time Australian World Muaythai Council (WMC) Bantamweight Champion, Stadler will be looking to solidify his standing as one of the best in that weight class in the country.
Twin brother Petch Sitmonchai will also be taking on current WMC Australian 63.5kg champion Lloyd Dean. Fighting out of Western Australia, and recently taking out the Domination 4-Man Eliminator against Rebellion stalwart Roy Wills, Dean will be on the hunt for another big scalp to cap off what has been an incredible year following his win against Kurtis Staiti on Rebellion 11 in September for the Australian strap.
Other notable bouts on the card include the semi main event between Victorian favourite Alexi Petroulias and George Mann as well as the return of Scotland’s Jordan Coe to face Victorian Chris Nguyen.
Earlier in the day Rebellion will also be launching its new novice fight show aimed at local fighters with five or less fights, Roots Muaythai. Designed as a launching pad for the future stars of Rebellion the fight card will be headlined with a MTA 57kg Victorian Title fight between Pamela Ablang and Tamika Rose. In the co-main event will be a rematch between top local fighters Elliot Glenister and Clem Taylor.
