Local favourite Tim Moore from the PUMMA gym on the Gold Coast will battle against Tasmanian fighter Shaun Etchell in the main event of Eternal MMA 6 this weekend.
The event takes place at the Coolangatta Hotel in Coolangatta, Queensland on Saturday night.
At just 20 years-old Etchell will get the biggest opportunity of his short career and will be looking at staying undefeated. The Launceston Boxing & MMA Club fighter earned himself the title shot following victories in Eternal’s sister show, Vallor MMA. In his last outing back in February, he scored an impressive first-round stoppage over Henry Pollock.
It will be local fighter Tim Moore who will go into the contest the favourite though, bringing in an experienced record and back to back wins. Moore will be hoping to add another flyweight title to his trophy cabinet after winning the Fightworld Cup flyweight crown back in November.
In a battle between two local fighters, former Eternal KO of the night award winner Brett Jacobsen returns to take on the ever durable Jason Preece in the semi-main event. Jacobsen’s only losses have both came to team-mates of Preece and both fighters will be eager to bounce back after losing at Eternal MMA 5.
The promotion will also have a no-gi submission wrestling super-fight between Andrew Dearsley and Daniel Almeida.
A fight between Elizabeth Warner and Janay Harding was cancelled on Thursday after Warner pulled out of the contest due to undisclosed medical reasons.
