Jessica Rose-Clark will make the trip to South Korea next month after the Aussie signed on to face former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Sarah Kaufman at Battlefield FC. The inaugural event takes place March 18 at the Olympic Hall in Seoul.
Kaufman (17-4) will serve as Rose-Clark’s most experienced opponent to date having fought some of the best female fighters ever in a career which dates back over a decade. The 31 year-old Canadian has beaten the likes of Miesha Tate, Alexis Davis, Liz Carmouche, and Roxanne Modafferi in that time. She will be looking to turn things around on the night, however, after losing consecutive bouts in the UFC to Alexis Davis and most recently Valentina Shevchenko back in late 2015.
Like Kaufman, Jessy “Jess” (6-3) will also be eager to right the ship when the two meet after losing a split decision to Pam Sorenson in her second Invicta FC appearance back in November. Prior to the loss, the 29 year-old Aussie, who is currently training out of Syndicate MMA in Las Vegas, outpointed Janay Harding at Eternal MMA 19 (fight video).
Also announced for the lineup, Gokhan Turkyilmaz (14-13) has a big opportunity in front of him with the Aussie set to take on former UFC fighter Francisco Trevino (13-3). Meanwhile, now based at Australian Top Team in Sydney, American Raja Shippen (17-11-1) will meet local favorite Jung Hyun Ahn (4-2).
