Gold Coast based fighter Tim Moore was pushed all the way but ultimately got the unanimous decision victory over Ryan Lambert in the main event of Carnage In The Cage 3 last night. The two were promoted to main event status after previous headliner Taela Kelly was hospitalised during his weight cut, and subsequently cancelled his bout against Shane Wundenberg.
The event was held at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre in Queensland’s north.
Moore captures the Carnage In The Cage flyweight title with all three judges scoring the bout 29-28 to the Potential Unlimited MMA (PUMMA) trained fighter. The win was Moore’s first since being upset by Shaun Etchell back at Eternal MMA 6.
Former Valor title challenger David Butt from Riot Vale Tudo scored an impressive first-round stoppage over local fighter Eddie Trewin. Trewin reportedly took a big shot to the liver and was sent to hospital for precautionary measures. The bout was a rematch of their encounter last year, which was won by Eddie Trewin by decision.
Sam Kitchener took his professional record to 4-0 with a first round submission over Jasper Petersen-Jessen while promising up-and-coming female fighter Kaela Banney won a unanimous decision over Lisa Yu.
