Hobart’s Stuart Dare (pictured right) makes his Valor debut and Tasmanian return this Saturday night in Hobart, with the Priscus Fogagnola trained fighter set to meet Victoria’s Hoshi Friedrich in a welterweight title eliminator.
The matchup headlines the sixth C-Series offering from Valor, as the promotion returns to the Grandstand Hall at the Royal Hobart Showground. The winner will earn a spot opposite welterweight champion Callan Potter in November.
After nearly three years away from the sport, Dare made his mixed martial arts return at April’s Kings of Kombat 12 in Melbourne, where he took hometown favorite, and newly signed UFC fighter, Jake Matthews to the judges scorecards, but fell short losing a unanimous decision. The national Judo medalist will have the crowd behind him this time around against the Melbourne based Friedrich.
Friedrich made an impressive promotional debut at Valor 6 where he submitted Eddie Trewin with a standing guillotine choke in the opening round. He later joined the 2014 Brace championship tournament and lost a hard fought unanimous decision to undefeated veteran Steve Micallef at Brace 26.
