Veteran MMA fighter Adrian Pang will return to action next month when he makes his One Fighting Championships (One FC) debut against Vincent Latoel.
The co-main event bout will take place on the One FC: Dynasty of the Champions event, which will take place at the National Olympic Sports Centre in Beijing, China on October 31.
With Papua New Guinean-Chinese heritage, Pang, a former Legend FC title holder, is excited about the prospect of fighting on mainland China for the first time.
“Fighting in mainland China is very exciting for me as my PNG/Chinese heritage goes back through the generations prior to the World War, so I am looking forward to travelling to China & competing for One Fighting Championship,” Pang told Fight News Australia.
Despite having only one fight in the last three years, Pang has no doubt that cage rust won’t be an issue when he steps back in the cage on October 31.
“Most of you know the circumstances with my inactivity over past years & then making a successful comeback which was now a year ago again. Thing with me is I am consistently in the gym & looking to improve. I am always training & many of my students compete very regularly so I am ready to go,” Pang said.
His opponent Vincent Latoel is a veteran fighter who has spent time training at acclaimed gym Golden Glory. The Dutch fighter has fought around the world before signing on for One FC. In his four bouts within the promotion, Latoel has a split 2-2 record, most recently losing to Caros Fodor by submission earlier this month. Prior to that he upset Eddie Ng with a first-round stoppage.
Pang is confident that style-wise, the fans will get their monies worth when the two clash.
“Latoel is a long time MMA veteran & has an exciting style of fighting. I look forward to the challenge & feel our styles will match very well against each other assuring the crowd of getting their monies worth.”
The event will be headlined by an all Chinese bantamweight clash between Ji Xian and youngster Song Ya Dong.
