Canberra’s Duke Didier made a successful return to MMA at Brace 49 on Saturday night, outpointing Mike Turner in the main event and snatching the promotion’s light heavyweight title from the South Australian native in the process.
The event took place at the AIS Arena and was streamed live via the Brace website. Video on demand will be available at UFC fight Pass.
Didier took his unblemished record to 6-0 with the victory, the first outing for the national Judo champion since early 2015. For Turner, the defeat marked his third loss in a row and drops his record to 7-5.
In the lightweight co-main event, Ethan Duniam picked up a first round TKO against Myles Simpson.
The Tasmanian successfully rebounds with the result following consecutive defeats to Kieran Joblin and Greg Atzori. Simpson, who recently claimed the Eternal MMA featherweight title, drops only his third pro fight in 12 appearances.
The promotion heads next to Townsville on 13 May for Brace 50.
