Victorian based middleweight Daniel Kelly is building a large cult following and for the first time has broken into the top 15 UFC middleweight rankings. Kelly is on a 4-fight winning streak in the UFC and hold an overall record of 13-1 in his professional career.
A perennial underdog, Kelly’s latest split decision victory over UFC legend Rashad Evans was the fight in which he arguably introduced himself to the rest of the World. It was his first fight in the bright lights of Las Vegas and his first on the main card of a pay-per-view event.
The Australian has his next fight scheduled for the 11th of June against number 8 ranked middleweight Derek Brunson at the upcoming UFC Fight Night Card in Auckland at the Vector Arena.
Kelly will again be the underdog in his upcoming fight, but so far in his UFC career, outside a KO loss to Sam Alvey, the Aussie has passed every challenge put in front of him with flying colours, and with a close to home crowd behind him in Auckland, Kelly will be hoping to prove himself once more.
