One Fighting Championship’s first foray into mainland China looks to be on hold with indications that the event, which was scheduled to take place on October 31 at the Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium in Beijing, China, has been postponed.
A source confirmed the news to Fight News Australia on condition of anonymity as they were not authorised to discuss the matter publicly. The event has also disappeared from the One FC website.
If true, it will be a bitter blow for Brisbane based fighter Adrian Pang who was set to make his One FC debut on the card which would have also been his long awaited return to the cage after a lay-off from competition. He was scheduled to face Vincent Latoel in a lightweight clash.
Fight News Australia attempted to contact Adrian Pang in regards to the news but the Integrated Martial Arts fighter was unable to comment on the situation.
Updated 23/10/2014 @ 19:54: Adrian Pang has posted the following message to his fans via social media
Unfortunately my upcoming fight for ONE Fighting Championship has been postponed. My opponent has been injured as well as a string of other fighter’s being injured has forced the promotion to reschedule. Disappointment doesn’t express how I feel but I am ready to go as soon as new date is set. Everyone at team Integrated MMA HQ Nitro Boxing and Personal Training & Team Compton Training Centre knows how hard I have been training for this. Thanks to my sponsors Instinct Sports Nutrition ASN Chermside Fairtex Thailand Fanpage & QA Signs for ongoing support. Not to mention my friends, family & wife who have stuck by my side & supported me. Stay tuned
The only other bout that was announced on the card, was a clash between Ji Xian and Yadong Song.
According to One FC’s Victor Cui’s twitter account, the CEO is on his way to Beijing and is expected to announce further events in China in the coming days.
