Marcus Brimage scored a devastating head-kick knock out over Jumabieke Tuerxun in the opening fight at UFC Fight Night 55. The bantamweight clash opened the preliminary portion of the card and streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
UFC Fight Night: Rockhold vs Bisping took place on Nov. 8 at the Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia.
It was a tentative start for both fighters in the opening minute. Brimage started to have some success with his kicks and stumbled Tuerxun on a couple of occasions with body kicks. Brimage continued to come forward and unleashed a devastating head kick sending Tuerxun crashing backwards to the canvas. Brimage followed Tuerxun there and the referee was forced to wave the bout off after a couple of additional punches. The end came at 2:58 into the fight.
Brimage moves his MMA record to 7-3 with the win and snaps a two-fight win losing streak in the process. Tuerxun drops to 17-3 with the loss.
