Corey Nelson became the second Brace fighter to be awarded a contract with Asian based promotion One FC after stopping the previously undefeated Steve Micalleff in the 2014 Championship Tournament Final in Canberra tonight.
Brace CEO Kya Pate made the announcement following the Sydney based fighter’s impressive first round TKO win in the main event. The show was streamed live on Network Ten’s multi-platform portal, Tenplay.
Widely regarded as the country’s top welterweight, Nelson would join former featherweight champion Martin Nguyen at One FC if he signs with the promotion. Nguyen made a successful One FC debut earlier this month when he secured a second-round submission win over Filipino fighter Rocky Batolbatol at One FC 22.
