Alex Volkanovski won his pro boxing debut last night at the Entertainment Centre in Hurstville, NSW. Volkanovski defeated fellow debutant Dillion Bargero by unanimous decision on the JNI promoted ‘Centre of Attention’ card.
The Shellharbour, NSW, featherweight, who took out last year’s Fight News Australia Domestic Male MMA Fighter award after going an impressive 5-0 in 2014, has recently expressed his frustration with not being able to find opponents in MMA, and revealed to FNA that the boxing appearance was just a way to stay busy and pay the bills.
