Decorated heavyweight striker Ben Edwards picked up his second victory in MMA on Friday night, stopping Jeremy Joiner at Monaro Fight Circuit (MFC) 26 in Canberra.
Taking place at Canberra’s Rex Hotel, the K-1 and Glory veteran, who didn’t have it all his own way against the tough Melbourne based fighter, got the job done in the opening frame, dropping Joiner before finishing the fight with heavy punches on the ground.
The win follows the 32 year-old’s first-round TKO stoppage against former AFC heavyweight champion Brandon Sosoli back in July. Edwards has been vocal about his ambition to make it into the UFC.
The current XFC heavyweight champion, Joiner drops his second fight in a row with the result after going undefeated in his first five appearances.
Full results from the show will be posted shortly.
Got the win. Lot to work on but happy with takedown defence. Onwards.
