With just four days until Bellator Kickboxing 9 in Budapest, Hungary, ‘John’ Wayne Parr has finally locked in an opponent for his 129th fight.
Relative unknown Eder ‘The Shepherd’ Lopes from Portugal will step in against Parr in what is set to be a landmark fight for the Australian with 100 careers wins on the line. At just 20 years of age and with 12 fights to his name, Lopes faces an uphill battle against an experienced veteran like Parr.
The match-up, first reported by the Fight Network, marks the third and final fight on Parr’s current Bellator Kickboxing contract, and the Australian will be keen to put on a show at the BOK Hall in hopes of securing another contract with the organisation.
The bout is due to take place on the mixed kickboxing and MMA card with former UFC and WEC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson facing Roger Huerta in the main event of Bellator 196, while Raymond Daniels will defend his Welterweight title again Djibril Ehouo in the main event of Bellator Kickboxing 9.
