Little-known Portuguese fighter Eder Lopes has picked up an incredible upset win this morning, beating Australian muay thai legend ‘John’ Wayne Parr via decision in their Bellator Kickboxing 9 bout from Hungary.
The fight, which took place on a joint Bellator MMA and Kickboxing card from the BOK Hall in Budapest this morning, was supposed to be a celebration for Parr with 100 career wins on the line.
Lopes, with just 12 fights to his name and with nothing to lose, battled the Australian for three rounds before walking away with a decision victory and the biggest win of his short career. The loss, first reported by Combat Press, marks the third and final fight of Parr’s current Bellator Kickboxing contract.
