New Zealand’s Dan ‘The Hangman’ Hooker has taken out another UFC veteran.
Fighting Jim Miller at UFC Atlantic City, Hooker landed a beautifully timed knee three minutes into the first round which put Miller out cold. Miller ducked his head to avoid punches and Hooker used his long legs to launch his knee into the chin of Miller. Miller was out before he hit the canvas, but Hooker sneaked another shot in before the referee managed to wave the contest off.
Hooker is starting to become increasingly effective at using quick knees to finish his opponents. The finish was eerily similar to the knee which Hooker used to knock out Ross Pearson in Auckland last June.

The win brings Hooker’s record to 16-7 and is his third straight win since moving up to the lightweight division. Hooker continues to prove himself as a true finisher with all 6 of his UFC wins being finish victories.
Inside the octagon after the fight while being interviewed by Paul Felder, Hooker let it be known that he wants a ranked opponent next and politely asked Felder if he would be willing to make it happen. Felder stated that he would be willing to oblige and asked UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby to make it happen. Only time will tell if the UFC will make the match-up a reality.
