After four straight wins in the UFC, Alex Volkanovski has earned himself a date with a ranked opponent.
Volkanovski recently announced that he has agreed to fight Darren Elkins on July 15 (AEST) In Boise, Idaho.

Elkins is currently ranked number-10 in the UFC featherweight rankings and is on a six-fight win streak. He recently defeated Michael Johnson with a rear-naked choke in the second round. Elkins, nicknamed ‘The Damage’ is 25-5 overall.
Volkanovski has been nothing short of outstanding since making his debut for the UFC in 2016. In his most recent win over Jeremy Kennedy at UFC 221 in Perth, Volkanovski dominated his opponent from the opening bell, before securing a TKO victory in the second round.
Volkanovski has been calling for a ranked opponent for some time now. With Elkins accepting the fight, Volkanovski will get his long called for opportunity to fight his way into the top-10 of the stacked UFC featherweight division.
