Arlene Blencowe is set to make her Bellator return next month on the promotion’s stacked September 29 card in San Jose, Calif. Following an eight-month hiatus, the Aussie featherweight will take on former Invicta FC fighter Amber Leibrock.
Bellator 206 takes place at the SAP Center and will see welterweight champion Rory MacDonald challenge Gegard Mousasi for the middleweight title in the main event. Also slated for the card, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is set to face Wanderlei Silva in the heavyweight division, while the opening round of the promotion’s welterweight grand prix will take place between Douglas Lima and Andrey Koreshkov.
We last saw Blencowe in action at Bellator 189 where the 35 year-old lost a close five-round split points decision to Julia Budd, her second decision loss to the Canadian standout following their first encounter back in 2016.
Blencowe (10-7) was on a roll leading up to the rematch with Budd, stringing together first-round KO wins over fellow Aussies Janay Harding and Rhiannon Thompson before outpointing Ireland’s Sinead Kavanagh in her promotional return at Bellator 182.
Leibrock (3-1), meanwhile, has won two in a row, most recently putting a damper on Janay Harding’s Bellator debut with a unanimous decision over the Aussie in May.
Blencowe vs. Leibrock was first reported by the Geelong Advertiser.
