Whittaker broke his hand earlier this year in his split decision win against Yoel Romero and has indicated that he will be fit to return to the octagon early next year. Whittaker is currently on a 9 fight winning streak as a middleweight while Gastelum has won his last 2 fights and viciously knocked out former middleweight champion Michael Bisping last November.
