UFC Adelaide has added its second Mokhtarian brother.
Coming off The Ultimate Fighter Season 17 earlier this year, Mokhtarian will make his UFC debut on the Adelaide card against Sodiq Yusuff. Farah Hannoun was first to report the news on Twitter.
While Suman suffered a unanimous decision defeat on TUF in a two-round contest, he maintains an 8-0 record as a professional due to Ultimate Fighter fights being deemed ‘Pro Exhibition Bouts.’
At 26-years-old, Suman is arguably one of the busiest men in Australian MMA as he juggles his gym Australian Top Team and promotion Urban Fight Night while also competing professionally. The fighter from Western Sydney is known for his well-versed ground game with six of his eight professional wins coming by submission.
His opponent Sodiq Yusuff will be making his UFC debut after a successful fight on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. The Nigerian-born Yusuff had an outstanding performance on the show where he defeated Mike Davis by unanimous decision and improved his professional record to 7-1. Five of these wins have come by T/KO.
Suman will join his brother Ashkan on the card who will be taking on New Zealander Kai Kara-France.
The event takes place at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Dec. 2 in what is the promotion’s second visit to the state. Tickets went on sale to the general public on October 12 and can be purchased through ticketek.com.au.
