On Ariel Helwani’s MMA show Israel Adesanya spoke about his upcoming fight with Anderson Silva at UFC 234 in Melbourne.
Talking about the age of Silva, Adesanya said, “I keep hearing Anderson in his prime would have destroyed me, let him use TRT, I don’t really give a f***.”
When Ariel asked if he thinks Anderson will be clean Israel responded, “Anderson doesn’t need to prove anything, he’s just there to put on a show for his people.”
In another timeline it would be great for him to beat me and ride off into the sunset with a title shot. In this timeline, in this game, he can’t beat me
Adesanya went on to compare himself fighting Silva to Whittaker fighting Romero claiming “when he fought Robert Whittaker twice nobody said Romero is too old, you beat up an old man. I don’t understand what the disparity is.”

Israel believes that he will bring the best out of Anderson as he has been ‘bored’ his last few fights and has a chance to stand and strike now.
In the lead up to the fight, Silva has brought in Alex Pereira into his training camp. Pereira is the last man to defeat Adesanya in kickboxing when he knocked him out back in 2017.
The #6 ranked middleweight, Adesanya believes Silva bringing Pereira in as a training partner is an attempt to “try and shake” him and said, “he’s a troll and that’s a troll move, but whatever helps you sleep at night.”
Win or lose this fight, Israel looks at it as an opportunity to show off his skill set and hopes to “light up Rod Laver arena” as the co-main event on PPV, Sunday February 10.
