Previous Story prior to news of injury:
Jackson Small’s last blemish came at the hands of Shem Murdoch back in 2017. Since then the Nitro Boxing and Integrated MMA trained fighter has bounced back to capture the XFC featherweight title.
Small will look to avenge that loss this Saturday as the two headline XFC 39. The event taking place at the Mansfield Tavern in Queensland.
Murdoch remained active in 2018 competing under K-1 and Muay Thai rules. He lost to Hex Fight Series regular Aidan Aguilera towards the end 2017. Prior to that the New Zealand based fighter caught Small with a guillotine choke at XFC 31 for the biggest win of his career.
Small has looked unstoppable since then defeating Josh Togo and Ray Skellern before capturing the XFC featherweight title with a knock-out over Bevan O’Malley. In his last outing back in November, Small stopped veteran Jai Bradney inside the first round.
Also on the card, Sam Flint will meet Mirko Nuotatore in a pro lightweight fight.
