Ignite Gambred trained David Martinez kept his short pro career record unblemished last night with a stoppage over late replace Iain Blade.
The bout headlined Coastal Combat 5 which took place at the Coolum Civic Centre on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Martinez needed until the second round before he pulled out the TKO stoppage and moved his professional record to 3-0. The 25-year-old has an extensive amateur record which included him capturing the amateur XFC lightweight title. Blade dropped to 1-4 as a result of the loss.
Also on the card, Justin Van Heerdan won a unanimous decision over Tyrell Hogan while Karateka Brandt Cogill showed his versatile game with a first-round submission over Nathan Wilson.
