Undefeated Aussie Jimmy ‘The Brute’ Crute is set to make his third appearance inside the UFC Octagon.
The 23-year-old will take on Misha Cirkunov when the UFC returns to Vancouver, Canada on September 15 (AEST).
Crute (10-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC), racked up seven wins on the local Australian circuit with Hex Fight Series before being invited onto Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series where he scored a first-round knockout. He then went on to submit Paul Craig in his UFC debut in Adelaide last year before knocking out Sam Alvey in the first-round this past February in Melbourne.
Misha Cirkunov (14-5 MMA, 5-3 UFC) is currently sitting at number 15 in the UFC light-heavyweight rankings. Cirkunov is a highly accomplished judoka with 8 of his 14 wins coming by submission.
The Latvian-born Canadian won his first three UFC fights by submission before being knocked out by Volkon Oezdemir and then Glover Teixeira. Since then he went on to submit Patrick Cummins before recently losing to Johnny Walker.
UFC Vancouver, which will take place inside a venue to be named, currently has no main event in place.
