Another Aussie is set to fight for UFC gold.
Alex Volkanovski will fight Max Holloway for the featherweight title at UFC 245 in Las Vegas on December 15. While talks of the fight taking place on this date had been known since August, The Daily Telegraph confirmed the news today.

Volkanovski is undefeated inside the Octagon since making his UFC debut in 2017. In his last fight, Volkanovski beat former featherweight champion Jose Aldo to emerge as the clear number 1 contender. The Wollongong based fighter has been in Auckland training at City Kickboxing in anticipation for the title shot, while also helping out his teammates who will be fighting at UFC 243 in Melbourne.
Max Holloway has not lost a fight at featherweight since 2013 when he was defeated by Conor Mcgregor. He has won 14 straight at the weight class with his most recent victory coming over Frankie Edgar at UFC 240. He did drop a lightweight fight to Dustin Poirier when they fought for the interim lightweight back in April.
UFC 245 will also have a bantamweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Germaine de Randamie on the card.
