After his split decision win against Paul Felder in a 5-round war in Auckland, Hooker is already set to get back in action against former interim champion and number 2 ranked lightweight Dustin Poirier.
According to MMA Junkie the fight is expected to be the main event of UFC San Diego on May 16th, but contracts are yet to be signed.

Going 7-1 at 155 pounds, Hooker appears to have finally got the match up wanted. Hooker called out Dustin Poirier after he beat Al Iaqunita at UFC 243 in Melbourne saying, “Dustin Poirier I’m going to smash your face in.”
Poirier has been relatively quiet following his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, however, after Hooker called him out after UFC 243 he tweeted “Dan can fight Cowboy… I’m chilling out until something really excites me. Working on my craft.”
Things appeared to change, however, after Hooker’s recent win at UFC Auckland over Paul Felder.
