Isi Fitikefu is set to face a tough test in his quest for ONE Championship redemption.
“Doxz” will face Brazilian finisher Valmir Da Silva at ONE Fight Night 9: Nong-O vs. Haggerty at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on April 22.
Fitikefu made his ONE debut in November, when he dropped a razor-thin split decision to Kyrgyz welterweight Ruslan Emilbek Uulu.
The Gracie Smeaton Grange representative – who trains alongside UFC middleweights Robert Whittaker and Jacob Malkoun – was undefeated going in to the bout, with his career on the local fight scene highlighted by an Eternal Middleweight Title win over Kitt Campbell back in 2019.
Now the 30-year-old Fitikefu will look to kick start his run with ONE by notching his maiden win with the Singapore-based promotion.
But Da Silva will not go down without a fight.
“Junior” is coming off a submission win over dangerous South Korean Jin Tae Hoe back in July, which followed a knockout loss on debut to former ONE Welterweight World Champion Zebaztian Kadestam last February.
The Brazilian has an 8-2 professional record, with all of his fights so far ending inside the distance.
ONE Fight Night 9 is headlined by the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title showdown between long-time divisional king Nong-O Hama and British Muay Thai star Jonathan Haggerty.
The full ONE Fight Night 9 card is still to be announced.
