Stephen Erceg has earned a $50,000 USD performance bonus for his short notice win over top ten opponent David Dvorak at UFC 289 in Vancouver, Canada.
Dana White announced the bonus at the press conference after the even, describing the performance as ‘badass’ and describing Erceg as a ‘stud’, and saying that ‘some of the greatest talent in the world is coming from Australia.’
Erceg stepped in on 8-days’ notice after his original debut fight, schedule for July, fell through after his opponent pulled out due to an injury.
In his own post-fight press conference, Erceg called for his next fight in the octagon to be at UFC 293 in Sydney.
‘I think its like 10, 12 weeks away, something like that. Its like a perfect turn around. Fight in front of my home country and get all the people from my gym, and all the people that I know, that I’m friends with and family with to come over and support me. Its going to be great.’
