Isaac Thomson has scored a second round TKO over Lerryan Douglas at LFA 164 in Texas.
The fight was a true showcase of the featherweight’s striking ability, as he freely threw strikes at his opponent, utilising his push kick to keep Douglas on the backfoot, and following it up with impressive punches, rocking the Brazilian at the end of the first round before finishing him in the second.
Thomson rocked Douglas with a head kick against the cage before following him to the ground with punches to secure the TKO.
The 21-year-old trains out of Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, California, but is originally from Sydney.
In the cage after the fight, Thomson admitted the head kick wasn’t something he regularly trains but was something that felt right to throw in the fight.
‘I feel like it just kinda came naturally after that switch kick, I thought “might as well go high” it just came naturally to me.’ He said.
This victory marks Thomson’s fourth KO/TKO stoppage and raises his record to 5-1.
