Tasmanian based promotion Valor returns to the Albert Hall in Launceston, Tasmania, this Saturday night (August 3) with Valor: C Series 4. The main event will feature a 60 kilogram bout between Tasmanian locals Justin Richardson and Shaun Etchell.
For Richardson, this fight will be his third for the promotion after losing in his debut to Cayden Smith at Valor 1 back in mid 2012. The “Pocket Rocket” later avenged the defeat in a rematch at Valor 2, where he submitted Smith early with a rear-naked choke.
Etchell is currently undefeated after two Valor appearances with knockout wins over Luke Hodgetts and Damian Sirisomphone, who he stopped with a slam in his last fight at Valor 3 in December. The bout will be contested under A-class rules.
Valor: C Series 4 will also serve as the last event for Tasmanian fighter, and Valor co-founder, Dan “The Riot” Hyatt (pictured) who has announced that he will be retiring following the fight. The 25 year-old Hyatt has won five of his last six fights, with the one loss coming at the hands of UFC fighter Ben Alloway. Other top Aussie fighters that Hyatt has faced in his career, which began over five years ago, include Tony Rossini, Robert Lisita, and Gokhan Turkyilmaz, who he submitted in the main event at Brace for War 4. Hyatt will meet Kiwi striker Josh Karst in his retirement bout.
