Newly crowned Hex Fight Series featherweight champion George Mangos will take on Jarrett Wilbraham in his first title defence.
The bout which was confirmed by the promotion earlier today, has been scheduled for Hex Fight Series 37 on September 7
Hard to argue that Lion’s Den-trained Mangos hasn’t been the breakthrough fighter of the last 12 months and will come into this title defence with an unblemished 4-0 record. In his last outing, he impressively submitted veteran Justin Van Heerden with a submission in the third round.
Willbraham is a training partner of Van Heerden and will be looking to avenge the loss. It will be his second shot at the championship belt, having lost that to current The Ultimate Fighter participant, Kaan Ofli. He has bounced back with consecutive wins against Brad Ramsey and Semakadde Kakembo. He will come into it with an 8-2 record.
Hex Fight Series 37 will take place at the Melbourne Pavilion and an interim welterweight bout scheduled between Kaleb Rideout and Kitt Campbell has previously been announced for the card.
