UFC light-heavyweight champ Alex Pereira was in the middle of a sponsor tour of Australia when he took the late-notice bout against Jiri Prochazka for UFC 303.
Looking for immediate sparring partners, Pereira turned to Brisbane-based heavyweight boxer Demsey McKean who took up the opportunity to give Pereira four rounds of tough sparring.
Unknown to a lot of people is that Demsey McKean started off his career back in 2010 in MMA, and also fought Muay Thai before making a permanent switch to boxing where he has excelled, winning Australian and regional titles. He has also acted as a sparring partner to two-time unified world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua and interim WBC World heavyweight champion, Dillian Whyte.
