Thanh Vu to face Kevin Belingon at One FC 8

Australian based Thanh Vu will return to One Fighting Championships on April 5 where he will face Filipino fighter Kevin Belingon in the semi-final stages of the promotions Bantamweight Tournament.

Officials confirmed the match-up with bloodyelbow.com earlier today.

Training out of the Martial Arts Development team, Vu on the weekend disposed of Mohd Fouzein at One FC 7 to claim his spot in the smei-final stages of the tournament. Vu landed a crisp right and followed up with knees to get the stoppage 1:03 into the first round to take his record to 3-1. His opponent for the bout, Belingon trains out of Team Lakay will bring a 10-2 record to the cage. His losses have come to Soo Chul Kim & Masakazu Imanari. He punched his way to the next stage of the tournament with a first-round TKO over Yusup Saadulaev at One FC 6 back in October 2012.

In the other semi-final bout, former UFC champion Jens Pulver will look to get his career back on track when he faces Japanese fighter Masakatsu Ueda. Pulver & Ueda both won via decision back in October to book themselves a place in the next round against Ya Fei Zhao & Min Jung Song respectively.

The event which will be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore, will be headlined by a One FC Lightweight Championship bout between Shinya Aoki and Kotetsu Boku.
