Tongan Australian MMA welterweight Isi Fitikefu returns to action at ONE 168: Denver on September 7, ONE Championship has announced.
“Doxz” will take on Japanese submission artist Hiroyuki Tetsuka on the stacked card at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, United States.
The Sydney-based powerhouse was last in action at ONE Fight Night 9 in April 2023, when he submitted dangerous Brazilian Valmir Da Silva in the first round to take his professional mark to 8-1.
His first win under the ONE banner followed the first loss of his career, a split decision defeat to Ruslan Emilbek Uulu in his promotional debut.
Tetsuka, on the other hand, is riding an incredible five-fight win streak, with all of those victories coming inside the distance.
“The Japanese Beast” has submitted his last three opponents since a pair of knockout wins. In his most recent outing this past April, the 34-year-old also submitted Da Silva to take his professional record to 14-4.
The winner of the bout will surely put their name forward in the ONE Welterweight MMA World Title race. The division is currently ruled by two-weight king Christian Lee, who remains inactive following the tragic passing of his younger sister, Victoria, in December 2022.
“The Warrior” has, however, committed to resuming his career in his late sibling’s honour.
