Gold Coast based promotion Eternal MMA returns this Friday night, with undefeated youngster Michael Tobin headlining the event when he defends his Eternal featherweight title against Luke Thorngaard from Tweed College of Martial Arts
Since making his debut in April 2012, Michael “The Great White” Tobin has quickly risen through the ranks to become one of Australia’s leading featherweights. Tobin won his first five fights all via a first-round submission. Tobin was forced to work for it in his last outing though but came out on the winning side of a unanimous decision against Callum Lewis. An accomplished Judoka, Tobin will be looking at defending the Eternal title he captured back in May where he defeated David Greaves.
His opponent 24 year-old challenger Luke Thorngaard will come into the fight as the underdog having competed the majority of his fights in the pro-am promotion Fightworld Cup. His last fight was a third-round submission over Brett Jacobsen back in August.
An important featherweight clash pits PUMMA fighter Tim Moore against Integrated MMA trained Grego Penaloza. Both fighters are coming off recent losses, and will be looking for a win to climb the flyweight ladder again.
Eternal 3 will be held at The Coolangatta Hotel on Queensland’s Gold Coast on September 27. Tickets are limited with the action set to begin at 7:30pm.
