Arlene Blencowe will return to the cage on November 20th as part of Bellator 146, which will be headlined by Hisaki Kato and Melvin Manhoef in a middleweight bout. The event will be held at the WinStar World Casino Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
Blencowe is coming off a loss against highly respected women’s MMA pioneer Marloes Coenen, who back in August submitted the Aussie in the early stages of the second round. Prior to that Blencowe won her Bellator debut in impressive fashion against Adrienna Jenkins back in May.
While the matchup hasn’t been formally announced at this time, sources have confirmed to Fight News Australia that Blencowe’s next opponent will be American Gabrielle Holloway. Resolution Sports has also confirmed the matchup.
Holloway is currently 5-3 since making her professional debut back in 2012 and recently won via unanimous decision over veteran Andria Wawro in September.
The stakes are high for Blencowe and Holloway coming into this fight with both ladies in a must win situation if they want to find themselves in future title contention within Bellator. With the division in it’s infancy within the promotion, there is currently no title holder, however undefeated Marloes Coenen and Julia Budd are likely to be the first in line pending the outcome of Budd’s fight against Roberta Paim, which will also take place on November 20.
