Both Julian “Julz The Jackal” Rabaud and Jacob Mahony will look to bounce back from recent losses when they meet in the main event of Xtreme Fighting Championships (XFC) 25 this Saturday.
The event takes place at the promotions regular venue, the Mansfield Tavern on Brisbane’s south-side.
Jacob Mahony is the former XFC bantamweight title which he defended on two separate occasions before losing to Reece McLaren via submission back in February.
“The Jackal” returns back to bantamweight after unsuccessfully challenging for the XFC featherweight title against Shane Young in May. The defeat was Rabaud’s second consecutive knock-out loss after previously being stopped by current UFC fighter Ben Nguyen in 2014.
The bout will be rematch of their back-and-forth battle in 2012 which was won by Rabaud. Since then though it’s Mahony who has been the more active fighter having competed nine times compared to three.
Also on the card, Terissa Wall from Advance Martial Arts will challenge Incorporated Martial Arts trained New Zealand fighter Charlene Watt in a battle for the XFC women’s strawweight title, currently vacant while Muay-Thai fighter Bevan O’Malley will make his MMA debut against Adam Bourke.
