In the opening fight of UFC Fight Night 33 today Alex Garcia (pictured) demolished local boy Ben Wall with heavy hands early in their welterweight clash.
Wall missed with early leg kicks as the fighters sized each other up in the octagon. Wall then rushed in to his opponent looking to clinch, only to be countered by big punches from Tristar Gym member Garcia. Wall then looked for the single leg takedown but Garcia sprawled and immediately was able to get back to his feet. Garcia then landed a big uppercut which rocked Wall before rocking Wall with a series of punches as Wall fell to his back. Further punches finished the fight for Garcia.
The win came only 43-seconds into the fight.
Garcia moves his professional record to 11-1 in what was his Octagon debut. Wall who was training for a bout at featherweight bout drops his first professional fight and moves to 7-1, 1 draw.
The event was held at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Queensland, Australia.
