Against the cage it was Jotko working for the takedown and the 24 year-old landed a big right as they separated. The fighters exchanged short knees in the clinch as the first round came to an end.
Second round again started cautiously with Jotko looking to counter as both fighters circled around the cage. Santos clinched against the cage however Jotko was able to immediately escaped. Jotko countered nicely with short punches before the fighters again clinched against the cage. Santos looked to exchange late in the round, but it was Jotko who would land the more significant shots, dropping Santos with a nice left as the round came to an end.
With the fight still up for grabs going into the third round, Santos started it with a nice straight right before securing the double leg takedown. Santos moved into half-guard before progressing to side control. He immediately went for the rear-naked choke and Jotko looked in trouble, however Jotko managed to escape and finished the round in guard landing short punches and elbows.
