Australian based James Te Huna has stepped up to replace an injured Ryan Bader and will face Brazilian Glover Teixeira on the UFC 160 card. Te Huna joins fellow Australian based fighters Mark Hunt and Robert Whittaker on the card scheduled to be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, USA on May 25.
News of the match-up was first reported by The Age.
Te Huna is coming off a come from behind victory over Ryan Bader last month where he took his UFC record to 5-1. His lone loss has come to the ranked Alexander Gustafsson and Te Huna will be looking at making a statement when he takes on Teixeira.
Teixeira will bring a 3-0 UFC record into the fight and is currently riding a 18 fight win-streak. The 33 year-old has dispatched of Kyle Kingsbury, Fabio Maldonado in the UFC and is coming off a decision win over Quinton Jackson back in January. Teixeira is the number 4 ranked light-heavyweight fighter in the UFC official rankings.
On the card, Mark Hunt will face Junior Dos Santos on the card, while The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs U.K winner Robert Whittaker comes up against Colton Smith. The event will be headlined by a UFC Heavyweight contest between Cain Velasquez and Antonio Silva.
