Hex Fight Series was left scrambling for an opponent for their main event this weekend after American Jesse Taylor encountered Visa problems and was prohibited to fly to Australia where he was set to face Tasmanian fighter Priscus Fogagnolo.
Stepping up to replace Taylor is Daniel “Grasshopper” Way who after a tough 2015, will be hoping to pull-off the upset on a short days notice at Hex FS 5. The event goes down at the Melbourne Pavilion in Victoria this Saturday night.
The Victorian promotion posted the following on their official facebook page announcing the change:
Sad news last night Jesse Taylor attempted to board the plane but due to visa issues he has it sort out there won’t be enough time to get it sorted before Hex 5. Daniel Way stepped up with only four days notice. He’s been training hard and ready to fight. Main event will be Priscus vs Daniel. We apologise to everyone that was looking forward to that fight as much as us at Hex.
It was followed by Jesse Taylor who expressed his disappointment.
I’m sorry to tell all my Aussie mates, my team, family, myself and to promoter Trent James great guy and hex fighting that I had some visa issues that I have to clear up and could not enter Australia. I tried for two days to fight this and get there but it’s not ample time. I’m Pretty bummed at the moment but know it’s beyond my understanding. Gonna take a week off reset and get ready for my Russia fight. Can’t stay down too long. I am sorry Australia.
