Emerald based Mixed Martial Arts promotion Unarmed Combat Unleashed returns this weekend with their second show scheduled to be held at Emerald Town Hall in country Queensland.
The event will be headlined by a bantamweight title fight between Edwin Arana and Chris Morris (pictured) who will be vying for the vacant title.
Since making his debut in 2009, Arana has picked up wins over the likes of Kian Pham, Jacob Mahony and Luke Hume. The Townsville based fighter though has only won one bout in his last four outings with that coming in his most recent bout against Zach Hook in October.
Back in November, Chris Morris dropped to the flyweight division in an attempt to add the Fightworld Cup flyweight title to his bantamweight title. Unfortunately the Shindo New Breed fighter was submitted by Tim Moore and will be looking at getting back on horse this weekend. Morris has notable wins against Jacob Mahony and Shannon McClellan.
Also on the card, popular women’s fighter Jessy Rose-Clark will battle against Zoie Shreiweis for the Unarmed Combat Unleased Women’s bantamweight title. An important fight for both fighters in their attempt to rise up the female ranks.
While in a battle for the vacant heavyweight title, Vision Quest gym fighter Michael McDaniel will meet Luke Vella from Freestyle MMA in Sydney.
