Former heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar is making his long awaited return to the UFC with a heavyweight bout booked with Mark Hunt at UFC 200 in July.
Lesnar confirmed the bout on SportsCentre today after a trailer featuring the wrestling superstar aired during the UFC 199 Pay-Per-View.
Hunt is coming off a spectacular knock out of Frank Mir back in March while Lesnar hasn’t stepped inside the Octagon since December 2011 where he lost via first-round TKO to Alistair Overeem.
While many are questioning Lesnar’s ability to stand and trade with one of the best in the business, the former champ had this to say:
“If Mark Hunt ends up on the ground, the fight’s over,’’ he said. “Obviously I need to work on my stand-up game (though), but I’m excited and enthusiastic about doing so.”
UFC 200 is without a doubt, on paper, one of the best cards the promotion has put on since its inception. 21 of the 24 fighters appearing on the card have either headlined or been the co-main event of a UFC show. Incredible. Here’s how it looks:
Main Card
Daniel Cormier vs. Jon Jones — light heavweight title
Brock Lesnar vs. Mark Hunt
Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar — interim featherweight title
Miesha Tate vs. Amanda Nunes — bantamweight title
Travis Browne vs. Cain Velasquez

Derek Brunson vs. Gegard Mousasi
Kelvin Gastelum vs. Johny Hendricks
