Following his unanimous decision victory at Pacific X-treme Combat 53, Sydney’s Aydin Mrouki will make his promotional return next month when he takes on Filipino Rolando Dy.
The event takes place at the UOG Calvo Fieldhouse in Guam on November 18. The main event will feature a flyweight title fight between Darren Uyenoyama and Rilley Dutro.
It was an impressive performance from Mrouki in April (fight video). The ATT featherweight outpointed the more experienced Jaypee Espinosa in what was not only his international debut but also his first appearance as a pro.
Mrouki faces a tough challenge in the vastly more experienced Dy (7-4), who will ride a two fight win streak into the contest. Like the Aussie, “The Incredible” also picked up a victory at PXC 53 when he knocked out the previously undefeated Koyomi Matsushima in just 23 seconds in the co-main event. The performance originally earned the 25 year-old a spot opposite former featherweight champ Alex Volkanovski at the upcoming event, that was until Volkanovski signed on to fight Jon Tuck at UFC Fight Night 97.
A win over Dy will likely catapult Mrouki up the PXC featherweight pecking order.
