A veteran of the Australian MMA scene, Cuban born Judo Olympian Hector Lombard will face-off against Dong Hyun Kim in the co-main event of the UFC’s return to Macau.
The event is scheduled to occur on August 23 and will be headlined by a middleweight battle between Cung Le and Michael Bisping the promotion revealed over the weekend.
Since dropping down to the welterweight ranks, Lombard has found his mark inside the UFC winning two straight with his most recent win coming against former Strikeforce champion and UFC title challenger Jake Shields. The American Top Team product will bring a 34-4-1dr (1 no-contest) record into the bout.
32 year-old has Kim also put himself in line for a title shot, defeating the likes of Paulo Thiago, Siyar Bahadurzada, Erick Silva and most recently John Hathaway back in March whom Kim knocked out cold in spectacular fashion with a spinning back elbow. The win took Kim’s professional record to 19-2-1dr.
The event will be the third time the UFC has held an event in Macau, China.
